September 4 is Day of the City, and on that day, the Fairyland Noah`s Ark will welcome visitors to the Zoo

August 2010

Holiday celebrations will take place throughout the zoo grounds.

At 11:00am an exhibition of photographs submitted for the Carnivores Through the Camera contest will open at the Main Entrance Exhibition Hall.

Winners will receive their awards at the Central Stage.

Every hour from 11am to 3 pm visitors will have a chance to board a coach that will take them on a trip through the animal fairyland, where they will meet familiar characters of well-known fairy tales, learn their stories and take part in a pop quiz.

From 12 noon near the Pony Riding Circle all visitors can join a master class where everybody will be able to draw or make a mold or an origami of their favorite animal, and add them to the Zoo`s Fairyland Noah`s Ark.

At 12:00 a living marionette show by the Children`s Tick-Tack Theater will start on the Central Stage, followed by animal presentations and quizzes hosted by education department staff, and a show by the children`s Gulliver Singing and Dance Studio.

The Day of the City Celebrations will also feature a Crane Conservation action.

And of course, following our long-standing tradition, all contest participants will receive prizes and souvenirs from the Moscow Zoo.
