The Moscow Zoo is the first Zoo in Russia, and was opened in 1864.

At this time, it maintains over 8,000 of animals belonging to more than 1,000 species of world fauna.  The Moscow Zoo is a member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA), the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA), and the Eurasian Regional Association of Zoos and Aquariums (EARAZA).  It participates in multiple international endangered species conservation programs and cooperates with conservation organizations throughout the world.

 Entry prices for Moscow Zoo
       Adults over 18 – 150 rubles
       Children under 18, internal students, service men, disabled people, pensioners, parents of three and more children – free admission

Zoo Exotarium
       Adults over 18 – 50 rubles
       Children over 7, internal students, disabled people, pensioners, parents of three and more children – 5 rubles
       Children under 7, orphans, disabled children, service men – free admission 

 

The visitors are allowed to use photo cameras free of charge
 The use of camcorder – 25 rubles 
 Permission must be obtained for all filming and photography for commercial purposes. Please ask at the main gate for more information or call this number 495 253 6367.

Please remember: the Zoo is an establishment of increased danger. Your safety and that of the Zoo’s inhabitants is dependant on your following certain rules.

          Zoo rules

The visitors of Moscow Zoo are not allowed to: 
1.  feed the animals;
2.  enter service and building areas;
3.  climb over the fences and let children stand on the safety barriers;
4.  enter the Zoo premises with the pets;
5.  cause disturbance, play radios or tape recorders, etc.;
6.  tease and touch the animals.

    Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

     All visitors breaking the rules of Moscow Zoo will be fined.

       Attention!
The animals in the Zoo are fed on carefully prepared and balanced diets, but nevertheless it is natural for some animals in captive environment to beg for food. Feeding animals with sweets, bread and other treats can make them ill and even kill them. 

Please, don’t feed the animals!
